We have begun the development of this app at the time when there was a huge protest of taxi drivers in Belgrade because of the Car:GO platform. At that time our team was developing native apps for drivers and clients ordering rides from drivers, and not only that but a web admin panel for taxi companies. For real-time communication between these apps, we use socket technology. Socket.io has provided us with a great library for mobile applications for these purposes. However, the real challenge was to match sockets and push notifications. It was a great feeling to see an order from the client app to arrive at the driver app in less than 1 second. It was remarkable. From the very beginning, we communicated with the taxi drivers who pointed out their needs and explained what problems exist with the existing solutions. We devoted our time to fix those problems and bring out the functionalities they need. Given that the application is still the MVP, our team is working hard to improve all functionalities and to add new ones that are going to be useful to drivers, customers, but also to taxi companies.
